Z-CATARACT Procedure
Three steps to restorative vision
1. The Ziemer Z8 femtosecond laser creates small incisions in the cornea and a circular opening in the front part of the lens capsule.
2. Next, the Z8 laser fragments your clouded lens to allow for fast and easy removal of your lens.
3. After your old lens is removed a new artifical lens is implanted to restore your vision.
The lens fragmentation of the cloudy lens with the femtosecond laser is safe and gentle. The laser can create highly precise incisions, eliminating the need for sutures. This makes the treatment exceptionally gentle when compared with other methods.
The surgery itself takes approximately 15 minutes per eye. Commonly, surgeons schedule procedures for both eyes within a period of one to two weeks.
The healing process and visual improvement after Z-CATARACT is fast. You can expect to resume most of your regular activities within just a few days after the surgery.
